Redevelopment of The Toyota garage Site:
There is to be a further public consultation meeting with the developers of the site on Monday September 6th in St Martin's Hall between 6 and 9pm.
The Residents' Association was delighted that the official opening of St Martin's Hall took place on Saturday. The association was the instigator in setting up the first Public Meeting from which The Community Trust was formed and thanks to generous local people and grants the Hall is now Community owned.
Fundraising must continue to allow The Trust to carry out the planned refurbishment of the Hall.

The Trust have now received donations of about £82,000 but are still actively fundraising to improve and modernise the hall. . Donations can be posted or delivered personally to 17 Vicarage Hill, Farnham. Cheques to be made out to St Martin's Hall Community Trust. Donations may also be given to any St Martin's Hall committee members known to you.
St Martins is your Hall and we welcome all suggestions and help as to how it is managed and run in the present time and, for our future generations.
Sale of St Martins Hall - The Background
More than eighty people attended the first public meeting on June 15 to hear clarification from the Rev Jonathan Still regarding the Hall's proposed sale. He confirmed that offers have been received and that they are due to be considered by the Parish Church Council on their deadline date of June 29th.
There was a strong consensus from the floor that at this juncture this deadline is simply unrealistically tight to allow organisation of any alternative offers or suggestions from the community. This was considered due to the lack of early notice and publicity to the wider community concerning the Church's plans for the Hall, but the Rev. Still insisted that the June 29 date remained immoveable. Despite this background urgency, offers of not only practical but also financial help were made from the floor, and an action committee was formed as quickly as possible to put forward a working business plan to be considered by the PCC, hopefully to ensure the Hall's future availability for the community. An offer was made to the Parochial Church Council by the above deadline. This was accepted by the PCC subject to further dicussions. Many meetings took place by the working group and a business plan was presented at the next PCC meeting.
Anyone interested in offering either practical or financial help to secure the Hall's future, please contact The Bourne Residents' Association at the e-mail contact address provided here.
The Residents' Association is acting in this matter purely as a facilitating body, eager to bring together interested parties to secure the Hall's future.
