Planning and development control
This page is dedicated to key planning applications for the Bourne such as buildings and masts. The Association checks all planning applications on a weekly basis. We respond where:
- there is significant interest from local residents
- plans would adversely affect the rurality of the Bourne
- development would be out of proportion or sympathy with the area
We also keep an eye on developments to ensure they are carried out in line with their planning permission. If you have concerns about a current application or implementation of a development please let us know.
Phone masts
The Residents' Association's policy on mobile phone masts includes:
-
actively supporting and promoting the protection of local schools and nurseries from proposals to site masts in their vicinities
-
supporting collective action against mast sitings
AVELEY LANE MAST:
To date no formal application has been submitted to Waverley Borough Council re the proposed extension of the height of the existing, already crowded, mast and the addition of extra antennae, a feeder gantry and four equipment cabins. After a selected number of residents received a pre application notice from the managing company Arqiva, many people wrote letters of objection as did this Association. We continue to monitor the situation.
BOURNE WOODS MAST:
Waverley Borough Council approved planning permission or the mast in the Bourne Woods at the meeting in Godalming on 31st October. In accordance with our constitution we as an Association will continue to oppose any further planning proposals for masts in the Bourne.
As yet no plans have been submitted. The committee will continue to monitor the situation.
